It's that time of year again: the cherry blossoms are in bloom! Essex County's Branch Brook Park boasts a diverse collection of cherry blossom trees. The beautiful blossoming trees create a picturesque setting that transforms that park into a picture perfect spring fantasy. Come out with family and friends to take pictures, learn about the history of the park, and enjoy the wonder of spring.
Visitors to park will have the opportunity to learn all about the park and its cherry blossoms. At the Cherry Blossom Welcome Center, mini-history presentations will be given from April 8 to April 22, every hour on the hour from 12pm-3pm. These fifteen minute mini-presentations will give a history of the park and its historic tree collection. Those walking around the park to see the cherry blossoms will also be treated to self-guided walking tours. With 72 tour stops, visitors can use their cell phones to call a phone number or scan each stop's bar code to unlock even more about the park's history and horticultural information. These tours will be available all season long.
